“The message that we really want to send with is, is a message of hope.” Majority of the children and teens who come into foster care don’t have suitcases or travel bags of their own. This means they have to put their belongings in whatever is readily available, which, most of the time, unfortunately ends up being a trash bag. When the folks at the non-profit organization Tennessee Action Council heard this reality, they decided to act. The group got together to design and create a duffel bag that could be given to youth entering foster care. Recently, the group received a shipment of 1,000 bags and donated them all to the Williamson County DCS Office. Thank you to the Tennessee Action Council for helping DCS staff try to make the transition into foster care as smooth as possible for our children!
